Rmode cpp directx call failed
5 мар. 2017 в 17:40
I am running Windows 10. Game ran good on windows 7. Now the mouse cursor just spins for 3-5 seconds.
Error message is:
\BMRender\rmode cpp (3584) Direct X call failed -1, -1.
I have reviewed previous discussions on this board.
Tried compability modes for Vista, Windows 7&8. No change.
I have updated my NVIDIA drivers and Direct X.
I have uninstalled and installed the game several times.

Tried Win xp with service pack 2 and/or 3. no launch.
Thanks for suggestions.
I have also looked at NVIDIA GT 630 video card, ensure the drivers are updated and also ensured the .isi file in King;s Bounty resolution aligned with the vided card resolution.
I think I have a new monitor since the last time the game ran.

if your new screen is smaller than the previous one then maybe the game cant open because it wants to try a bigger resolution. anyways you can try editing the file and change the resolution there and you can try windowed mode as well
config file should be in %USERPROFILE%\Documents\My Games\Kings Bounty
as for windowed try what it says here http://pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/King’s_Bounty:_The_Legend#Windowed

Hopefully you fixed this by now.
If not, or if someone else is having the same issue, follow 5M’s advice.
Open your docs->my games->kb folder.
There, open the game.ini file.
Check your resolution settings at the top of the page.
You don’t necessarily have to change to windowed mode. But it may help if you still have issues.
I tried running this game again after I got a new Nvidia gfx card (and probably OS too).
Got the same error as the OP.
When I opened the game.ini file, It had the resolution set at something like 3200 x 1800.
Have no idea where those numbers came from but I’m betting it had something to do wth the video card.
Changed it back to default resolution of 1920×1080 and all is right with the world again.
Hope this and 5M’s advice helps.

C:\work\skyfallen\tbm\BMRender\rmode. cpp(4343): DirectX call failed: 2048, 2048, D3DERR_OUTOFVIDEOMEMORY (Out of video memory)
##################### skip top texture mips
# 0 — high quality for lots of mem
# 1 — medium quality for 128M boards
# 2 — low quality for 64M boards
setf ~r_picmip 1
Файл game.ini:
setf ~shadowresolution 1024

Send dxdiag report to our support team (support@1cpublishing.eu). But this is 100% problem of the drivers.
I sent an email to the support line you provided. When can I expect a response?
Also. How can it be the drivers if my drivers are up to date?

if I try to rotate the camera or in the cutscene that plays when the princess enters the portal at the beginning of the game the game crashes to the desktop in windows 7 x64 and I receive the following error message
C:\work\skyfallen\tbm\BMRender\rmode.cpp(5534): Directx call failed: -1,-1,E_FAIL (an undetermined error occurred inside the direct3D subsystem)
I’m using updated drivers for my graphics card (Geforce 8500GT, driver version 195.62) and directx is also updated (from the game disk).
Funny thing is, the problem does not occur in Windows Xp x86. I’m also using updated drivers (195.62) & directx there.

I was experiencing the same problem. Changing my game resolution helped a little, but only barely (changed from 1280×1024 to 1152×864 or something like that). The game still crashes every now and then when I rotate the camera, so I have to save pretty much every five seconds.
I had same problem, and just found fix for it, if I turn off Anti-Aliasing, then I can travel through portal and play without getting error. All other settings I have on highest.
If that doesn’t work, then put everything to lowest or off, to get through, once you are on other side, you can set them back up, but game will still crash, so do not forget to save after you do something.
I am dual booting with XP Sp3 and Win7 Ultimate
In XP i can turn on Anti-Aliasing without a problem
But in Win 7 it’s always giving me the same Crash, so it’s totally drivers problems
