I have purchased HP 15ay078tx with DOS. I have installed Windows 7 Premium 64 bit. But Wifi (Broadcom) driver is not available at hp official site for this model.
I tried downloading it directly from HP support center. But while installing sp66403.exe file, it is showing error «Update.cpp 1205» has occurred and Setup cannot continue.
Please help from where I could install wifi driver for my notebook.

That driver is too old for the hardware version of the wlan card your notebook has.
You need this driver for W7 for your model.
The package contains the Broadcom wireless LAN drivers and utility that are required to enable the integrated Broadcom Wireless LAN Adapter in supported notebooks that are running a supported operating system.
Now, if you get the same error when you go to install this driver, you will need to reinstall W7 and then reinstall the driver I posted.
There have been several forum members who when they first install the wrong driver and get that error, any subsequent driver installations fail with that same error.
The only solution that has worked to remedy that issue is to reinstall the operating system.

You are getting that error because Broadcom never made any W8 drivers for the model wifi adapter your notebook has.
If you want the wireless to work, you will need to connect via ethernet or USB wireless network adapter, do the required updates to W8, so you can get the free upgrade to W8.1 from the Windows Store, and then you can use the W8.1 Broadcom wifi driver on your notebook’s support page.

Hello I just bought gtx950 for my HP Pavilion p6-2032it(H-CUPERTINO2-H61-uA TX), and I can’t seem to make it work.

I have clean recently installed win 10 on my laptop, no worries. I used tool for creating Microsoft Media (is that your link will?) to make the installation media (USB key). If your computer comes with win 10 or previously had it installed and activated correctly, so I think I know it activates automatically during installation. No key is required, it works. Just make sure that you create a disc with the same version that you had previously installed (home or pro).
You are using an out of date browser. It may not display this or other websites correctly.
You should upgrade or use an alternative browser.
I recently got myself a HP 15-af114AU laptop which had Windows 10 pre-installed. I had to install Windows 8 Pro on it since Windows 10 was too slow for me.
Now here’s the catch: HP does not provide drivers for this model for any OS apart from Windows 10. I downloaded the drivers and could install most, but not Wireless LAN’s and Bluetooth’s.

I could find different downloads for this one, few gave me an error saying OS isn’t compatible.
I found one for Windows 7 — ran it in compatibility mode — although, it failed after the error: update.cpp 1205
I managed to find one half mini card adapter’s drivers which belong to Lenovo — http://support.lenovo.com/in/en/downloads/ds034049 — it did finally let me connect to WiFi, but it is unable to detect WiFi few metres away, while my WiFi get detected at a distance ~5x more.
Is there any way I could use my WiFi on Windows 8 now?
PS: Also, I am not able to modify the brightness — I downloaded the graphics drivers and they got installed to (AMD catalyst), but when I see dxdiag, I cannot see the 2 GB onboard gfx memory.
