How to Convert Minecraft Windows 10 World to Java (Bedrock to Java)
Like to move from Bedrock to Java? Here’s a simple way to convert Minecraft Windows 10 world to Minecraft Java world? Something this is also called as LevelDB to Anvil conversion.
Minecraft has several different versions for several different platforms. The most popular version is Java Edition. Java is not only how it is created but also has the most in-game and other necessary customization features. Add to that, Java edition has things like spectator mode and even supports some of the best mods like OptiFine. Simply put, if you like more features and customization support then Java edition is the way to go.
If you bought Minecraft Windows 10 Edition or also known as Bedrock edition and want to try out the Java edition, you don’t have to leave your worlds behind. Rather, you can simply convert Minecraft Bedrock worlds to Minecraft Java worlds. Let me show how you can convert leveldb to anvil.
Things to Know and Do Before Proceeding
The conversion may not be seamless and there might be differences in how the blocks behave. This is especially true for Redstone contraptions and custom-built structures.
Backup your Minecraft world before converting it to Java.
I’ve only tried it on Windows 10 edition but the below procedure should also work with other bedrock editions too, as long as you can import them to your PC.
Important note: The MCC Tool Chest is no longer being developed and the official website is down too. However, you still download it using the archive link or using this link. Do keep in mind that on newer versions of Minecraft, the MCC Tool Chest cannot read the chunk data and many not convert the world properly.
As an alternative to the MCC Tool Chest application, try Universal Minecraft Converter (paid application)
Steps to Convert Minecraft Windows 10 Worlds to Minecraft Java
Since Minecraft has no built-in options to convert the worlds from Bedrock to Java, we are going to use a free software called MCCToolChest. This tool allows you to modify the bedrock levels and even convert them as needed.
1. First, go to the Minecraft save folder, find the world folder and copy it to desktop. You see the world name in the “levelname.txt” file inside the world folder.
2. Download MCCToolChest PE (Bedrock version) and install it like any other Windows application. After installing, open the application from the Start Menu or by double-clicking on the desktop icon.
3. After opening the application, drag and drop the Minecraft world folder into the application window. This action will import the world. This is how it should look like.
4. Now, select “Tools → Convert → To Java” from the top navigation bar.
5. The above action will open the conversion window. Here, click on the “Browse” button and select a folder where you want to store the converted world. In my case, I’m selecting “New Folder” on the desktop. You can always rename and move this folder to the actual Java save location.
By default, all the settings are optimally configured. The only setting I recommend you to take look at is the “Convert Dimension” section. If you’ve visited the Nether & The End then I recommend you select those checkboxes too.
Once you are done with the settings, click on the “Convert” button.
6. Depending on how big your world is, it can take some time.
7. Once the conversion is complete, you will see the “Conversion Completed” prompt. Click “Close” to close the window.
8. Open the destination folder to see the converted world files.

9. Open File Explorer, paste “%appdata%.minecraft\saves” in the address bar and press Enter. This will take you to the Minecraft Java save location. Copy the converted world folder to here.
10. After copying the converted world folder to Minecraft Java save folder, launch Minecraft and select the player mode. You should see your converted world along with any other worlds you already have.
11. Select the world and hit the “Play Selected World” button and you should be in the world.
Wrapping Up
As you can see, it is pretty easy to convert Minecraft Windows 10 edition to Minecraft Java. As easy as it is, there are several things that can go wrong and there is no guarantee that the converted world will be just as good as the native world or if it even works. This is doubly true if you have a lot of structures, Redstone contraptions, and customizations.
For instance, even though the level conversion has gone smoothly for me, several block types like the fences and slab glitched out. So, I had to manually replace them.
If the levelbd to anvil conversion worked for you then that is awesome. If not, there is nothing much you can do unless Mojang officially supports the conversion process.
Hope that helps. If you are stuck or need some help, comment below and I will try to help as much as possible.

Bedrock
