Projects and companies that use Python are encouraged to incorporate the Python logo on their websites, brochures, packaging, and elsewhere to indicate suitability for use with Python or implementation in Python.

Currently, the following larger sized and vector variants of the logo are available:

  • PNG format — the original master which should open as a vector image in Adobe Fireworks
  • PNG format (flattened)
  • Photoshop format
  • SVG format (generic SVG export from Inkscape)
  • SVG format (Inkscape-specific SVG)

The font used in the logo is called «Flux Regular». The PSF owns a copy but we cannot distribute it, except for work on the PSF’s behalf.

The official Python Powered logo is available in two forms, wide and tall:

This logo available in sizes 200×80, 140×56, 100×40, and 70×28. Also as SVG format source file.

This logo available in sizes 140×182, 100×130, 70×91, and 50×65. Also as SVG format source file.

Guidelines for Use

The Python logo is a trademark of the Python Software Foundation, which is responsible for defending against any damaging or confusing uses of the trademark.

In general, we want the logo to be used as widely as possible to indicate use of Python or suitability for Python. However, please ask first when using a derived version of the logo or when in doubt.

T-shirts and other Merchandise

Python T-Shirts and other merchandise featuring the Python logo can be purchased at Cafepress (sales benefit the Python Software Foundation). Making your own shirts is OK too, but please seek permission from the PSF if you are planning to sell merchandise that shows the Python logo.

The image on Wikimedia uses lower precision in its SVG coordinates than the original image at https://www.python.org/community/logos/. The rendering of this image to raster PNGs may distort elements of the logo shape in ways that do not permit general use. For a reproducible version, please use the original SVG and raster renderings available from the python.org link given; please contact the Python Software Foundation Trademarks Working Group at psf-trademarks@python.org for questions about permitted uses of the Python logo.
